When Instacart laid off 7% of the company in February of 2024, they gave employees more than just walking papers. Longtime employees also left with years of Instacart-branded swag like t-shirts, pins, mugs, sweatshirts, and more, all emblazoned with the company’s name and/or carrot logo.

However, wearing a T-shirt advertising your former employer has similar vibes to using a photo of your ex as your phone’s wallpaper. This called for a complete rebrand of all company swag.

Making a stand

Someone might have taken the spring gardening project too far and the result was more fruits and veggies than the family could eat. At the same time, two sisters were looking for funds to increase their candy purchases. Synergy.

The challenge was figuring out how to stand out among a dozen other island farm stands? With a subtle nod to the classic sitcom The Golden Girls, obviously.

All it took to get The Garden Girls up and running was a few hand-painted signs, a hastily built farm stand, and a no-budget photoshoot. Sales were strong all spring and summer and we never heard from Disney Enterprise, Inc., which is good because we haven’t built out our legal team yet.

Senguptason Holiday Goat Burning

Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn

It was holiday party season and the Senguptason family wanted to host, but without wearing ugly holiday sweaters or singing carols. So the Creative Team at Nickum Agency put on our ideation fedoras and came up with a party theme so out of the box we ended up using the box to fuel a fire.

Our holiday hack acknowledged the Senguptason’s pagan tendencies and partial Viking heritage. It also utilized their abundance of scrap construction lumber and succeeded in announcing their presence to their new neighborhood.

Invitations were sent to 70 people and 68 people turned up for the First Annual Goat Burning Party. That’s a 47% higher turnout than their neighbor’s holiday party saw and the Wilson’s provide hard drugs and they swing.

The Birdie Improvement Project

Don’t let the floppy ears fool you, Birdie came to us with a serious image problem. After months of acting out for attention she was at serious risk of losing her good dog status. But after many rounds of ideation, the team came up with a million dollar idea—daily walks at the beach.

Not only did the daily exercise and increased public exposure significantly boost Birdie’s personal brand and social media content, it also led to dramatic improvement in her KPIs.
